ONE DAY. COMPLETELY NEW BEDS.

Fort Myers beds fight a two-front war.

On one side: live oaks dropping leaves nearly year-round across neighborhoods from historic Seminole Park to the suburbs off Colonial Boulevard. On the other: summer weeds that germinate overnight in our heat and rain. The result is beds that look tired three months after a refresh — unless the install was done right in the first place.

What "done right" means

It starts with a real cleanout, not mulch tossed over weeds. We pull existing weeds, clear oak litter, and cut a fresh edge along every bed — that crisp trench line is what makes mulch beds look professional instead of amateur. Then commercial-grade weed barrier goes down: it blocks new weeds, lets rain through to roots, and stops mulch from sinking into our sandy soil. Finally, three inches of mulch, floated evenly, with no volcano piles against tree trunks and no mulch touching your home's slab.

Choosing your mulch

Pine bark remains the most popular choice in Fort Myers — attractive, widely available, and great under the live oaks and palms that dominate local landscapes. Melaleuca lasts longer and naturally resists termites, making it our recommendation for beds against the house. Eucalyptus brings a warm natural color and an aroma that discourages some insects. We'll walk your beds and recommend the right fit rather than pushing whatever's cheapest that week.

How much do you need?

At the proper three-inch depth, one pallet (70 two-cubic-foot bags) covers roughly 560 square feet. Most Fort Myers front beds need two to four pallets. We measure your beds during the estimate and quote a single total — materials, barrier, edging, and labor included, no surprises.

A little more to know.

How long does mulch last in Fort Myers?

Typically 9–12 months before it fades and compacts. Beds installed over weed barrier with proper depth hold their look noticeably longer.

Do you remove old mulch first?

We remove weeds, leaves, and debris. Old decomposed mulch can stay as a base layer — it's already breaking down into the soil, which is fine. We add fresh mulch to full depth on top.

Will mulch attract termites to my house?

Any wood mulch near a foundation deserves caution. We keep mulch pulled back from the slab and recommend termite-resistant melaleuca for beds closest to the house.
