Discuss Your Property ↗Mulch looks simple. Done right, it's a system: cleanout, edging, barrier, depth, and placement — each step protecting the ones before it. That's what Prestige installs on every mulch job across Southwest Florida, whether it's a single front bed in Naples or full-community beds for an HOA in Estero.
We start by removing weeds, leaf litter, and debris from every bed — never spreading fresh mulch over a weedy mess. Then we cut a fresh edge along the bed line. That defined trench edge is the detail that separates professional work from a weekend DIY job; it holds the mulch in place and gives beds their crisp outline.
On our estimates, "ground cover" means weed barrier — a permeable commercial fabric laid over the soil before mulch goes down. It blocks weeds while letting water and nutrients through to plant roots, stops mulch from disappearing into sandy soil, and dramatically cuts the weeding your beds need afterward. It's the single highest-ROI part of the job.
We spread a full three inches — the depth university extensions recommend for weed suppression and moisture retention. One inch is decoration; three inches is function. Choose from pine bark (the classic, rich and long-lasting), melaleuca (made from invasive trees cleared from the Everglades; naturally termite- and decay-resistant), or eucalyptus (warm natural tones with mild insect-deterring properties).
Mulch gets pulled back from tree trunks (no volcano mulching — it rots bark), kept off the home's slab line, and feathered at bed edges so it doesn't spill onto lawns or pavers. One pallet — 70 two-cubic-foot bags — covers about 560 square feet at proper depth. We measure your beds and quote one total: materials, barrier, edging, and labor included.

It depends on bed square footage and mulch type. As a rule of thumb, one pallet covers about 560 sq ft at 3-inch depth. Request a free estimate and we'll measure your beds and give you one total price — materials, weed barrier, and labor included.
Weed barrier — a permeable fabric under the mulch that blocks weeds, retains moisture, and keeps mulch from sinking into sandy soil while letting water through.
Every 9 to 12 months. Our heat and summer rains decompose organic mulch quickly. Beds over weed barrier hold their appearance longer between refreshes.
